It would seem that inadequately stamped letters addressed to the UK and posted in the Correo box in Benigembla are being placed in the notice board in Bar El Gat with a note of the amount by which they are short on postage. (One of the letters was short by only 4 cents but was not accepted by the post office.)
The half dozen or so seen yesterday have been dealt with.
It would appear to be advisable, for UK letters, to check the correct postage with the Correo office before posting. I believe that there has been an increase in rates since 1 Jan.
If the sender's address is shown on the back of the envelope and there is a problem it may be possible to contact the sender.
